The Scholars’ Studio at Chatswood High School
The Scholars’ Studio is Chatswood High School’s after-school study program that operates inside the Senior Library on Wednesdays from 3:20 pm to 6:00 pm. Mr Chand supervises this program, where students can enjoy their after-school study experience and be immersed in a high-energy, high-impact culture of encouragement, support, and challenge, to stretch their learning experience to a new level. All students across Years 7-12 are welcome to attend.

We have three academic coaches from the Art of Smart available to support students with their learning from 3:20 pm to 4:20 pm, while the actual supervised study space is available for all students until 6:00 pm.

With funding from our P&C, students have the opportunity to work with three dedicated academic coaches from the respected Art of Smart team. Our academic coaches support students across the key learning areas of English, Mathematics and Science. Elora, Aarav, and Nashra are our dedicated academic coaches, and since this program’s inception, they have developed positive connections with our school, and they’ve helped to strengthen our vibrant academic culture of support, care, and positivity.
Since the first Scholars’ Studio session on July 30th, 2025, we have seen hundreds of students use this space to work alongside our academic coaches for the following purposes:
- Group study sessions with friends
- Private individual study sessions
- Exam preparation
- Homework completion
- Revision
- Extension work
- Advice about university study
- HSC preparation and revision
- Completion of past HSC examinations and feedback from academic coaches
- Receiving advice about study strategies and developing individual study plans
- Use of the large smart screens to work collaboratively with others

The Scholars’ Studio is convenient for students because they can study after school in our own Senior Library, rather than go to Chatswood Library, which is sometimes full and crowded. Most students and families have now made the Scholars’ Studio part of their weekly routine.
Students have provided the following feedback:
- An incredible place to concentrate and do homework.
- A really productive place to do work with my friends.
- It’s really helpful and engaging.
- The tutors are very nice.
- A quiet place for all students.
- Public libraries are extremely loud, and this place is helpful.
- A place to feel really productive and concentrate.
- It helps me focus and get my work done without procrastinating.
This program is an example of equity in action, as it is proudly P&C funded and available to all students. No bookings are required; students can simply turn up and join the wonderful learning experience.
